The monumental structure, known as "Charge" in the port of Zonguldak, means "charging" in terms of its function. This facility, which was built to load the coal produced in the basin and brought to the port by rail, to the ferries in the port, was used to load cargo, primarily coal, onto freighter-type ships. This building, which was carved out of limestone, is an original example of the period. Considering its existence for over a hundred years, it can be said that it is the oldest architectural value that has survived in salt water.
